Both stakes winners in 2023, Florida-breds All That Magic and Mohawk Trail will try for their first win of the year Friday in the $150,000 Autumn Days at Aqueduct. Scheduled for six furlongs on the outer turf, the Autumn Days has attracted 10 fillies and mares, 3-years-old and older. There are also two on the also-eligible list and one entered under main track only conditions.

A winner of the $104,000 Incredible Revenge at Monmouth Park last year, All That Magic set the pace in the $100,000 Sensible Lady Turf Dash at Laurel in her last race on Sept. 14, but could not hold on in the stretch, finishing fifth but just two lengths behind winner and Autumn Days-rival Loon Cry.

Two races back at Monmouth on Aug. 11, All That Magic failed to defend her title in the Incredible Revenge when fourth to Love Appeals, who she will also face again Friday.

All That Magic is trained by Kathleen DeMasi, who co-owns the 5-year-old mare with Spedale Family Racing LLC. She has won six of 15 career starts with one second and two thirds while banking $240,757.

Bred in Florida by English Range Farm, All That Magic is by Fast Anna out of Hermione’s Magic, by Forest Wildcast. She twice passed through the auction ring at Ocala Breeders’ Sales, but did not meet her reserve at the 2020 October Yearling Sale. She then sold to Pewter Stable and Spedale Racing for $40,000 at the 2021 OBS Spring Sale where she was consigned by Envision Equine.

All That Magic will be ridden by Eliseo Ruiz from post three.

Mohawk Trail last year won the Grade 3 Ontario Colleen and $100,000 Alywow, both at Woodbine, but has one second in three starts this year.

The Kelsey Danner trainee started the year finishing fifth in the Grade 3 Honey Fox won by Chili Flag on Mar. 2 at Gulfstream then fell just a half-length shy of winner Charlie’s Wish when second in the $100,000 Pleasant Acres Stallions Distaff Turf on Florida Cup Day at Tampa Bay Downs on March 24.

She did not fire in her return to the races on Oct. 17, finishing out of the money in an allowance race won by Aussie Girl on the turf at Keeneland.

Mohawk Trail has won four with two seconds and a third in 14 starts while earning $236,214 for owner NBS Stable. She is by Pioneerof the Nile out of Iroquois Girl, by Indian Charlie and was bred in Florida by Westbury Stables LLC.

Danner has given the riding assignment to John Velazquez and they have post nine.

Trainer Christophe Clement seems well-armed for the Autumn Days with three entries in Loon Cry, Love Appeals and Dontlookbackatall.

Loon Cry just had a three-race win-streak snapped when fifth in the $135,000 Floral Park at Aqueduct on Oct. 12. She had started that span by taking a second condition, $50,000 optional claiming on June 15 then won the $127,000 Sweet Briar Too on Aug. 3, both on the grass at Woodbine. She then won the Sensible Lady Turf Dash before the Floral Park.

Loon Cry has won seven with three seconds and two thirds in 15 career races while earning $415,399.

The 4-year-old daughter of More Than Ready is owned by Waterville Lake Stables and will be ridden from post five by Joel Rosario.

After winning the Incredible Revenge, Love Appeals was third in the Sensible Lady Turf Dash before finishing second in the Floral Park.

Love Appeals has won four of 12 lifetime starts with a second and four thirds and has earned $161,520 for owner Moyglare Stud Farm Inc.

Dylan Davis has the mount and they will depart from post 10.

Dontlookbackatall won the Grade 3 Caress at Saratoga Race Course in July then was second in the Grade 2 Ladies Turf Sprint at Kentucky Downs on Aug. 31. The 4-year-old daughter of Peace and Justice looks to rebound off a poor performance when last of 12 in the Grade 2 Franklin at Keeneland on Oct. 13.

Irad Ortiz Jr. has the call on Dontlookbackatall from post two.

Rounding out the field are Hollywood Walk and jockey Javier Castellano, Toupie with rider Flavien Prat, Manny Franco rides Golden Hostess (SAf), Mz Big Bucks will be ridden by Kendrick Carmouche, Luis Rivera Jr. rides Yesternight. Union Dolly and Risk Threshold (Ire) are on the also-eligible list and Security Code is entered as main track only.
