HALLANDALE BEACH, FL—Four races are scheduled for the grass Friday at Gulfstream Park, including Race 4, a seven-and-a-half-furlong maiden special weight on the turf for eight 2-year-old fillies, including five Florida-breds.
Among the Florida-breds, Clare’s Shines and Double Magic run for an additional $25,000 Florida Sire Racing Incentive bonus paid by the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association. Capped at $1 million, the FSRI program pays $20,000 to the owner and $5,000 to the breeder of eligible Florida-sired, Florida-bred 2-year-olds that win maiden special weight, allowance, allowance optional claiming or stakes at Gulfstream Park or Tampa Bay Downs in 2026.
Trained by Donaldo Gonzalez, Clare’s Shines has two previous starts in maiden special weights for fillies at Gulfstream, the last a third-place finish behind winner Melody Queen racing five-furlongs on June 14. In her first start on May 29, she finished fifth in a four-and-a-half-furlong test won by Prime Aurora.
Clare’s Shines is by Ocala Stud stallion Colonel Liam out of Clare’s Dowery, by Jump Start. She has earned $9,000 in her two previous races for owner Juvenal Diaz and was bred in Florida by Ocala Stud.
She is a graduate of this year’s Ocala Breeders’ Sale Spring Sale where Omega Farm as agent purchased her for $20,000 out of the Ocala Stud consignment.
J. G. Torrealba will ride Clare’s Shines from post four and she is 5-1 in the program.
Double Magic makes her second start after finishing sixth behind Florida-bred Hot Rod Honey in a five-furlong maiden special weight for Florida-bred fillies at Gulfstream on June 5. She is trained by Luis M. Ramirez for Smith Ranch Stables.
Bred in Florida by DSR Inc. and Rock and Horse, Double Magic is by Pleasant Acres Stallions’ Magic On Tap out of Magic Flair, by Defrere.
She is a two-time graduate of OBS, most recently selling to bloodstock agent Sean S. Perl for $65,000 out of the Really and Truly Thoroughbreds consignment of Rubin M. Sanchez at the 2025 October Yearling Sale. Francis and Barbara Vanlangendonck’s Summerfield consigned her to the 2025 Winter Mixed Sale where C-G Stables bought her for $6,500.
Diego Herrera will ride Double Magic from post six and they are 4-1 on the morning line.
Florida-bred Moonshine Honey is 7-2 on the morning line for trainer Abraham Gardea and owner Kinney K Stable. The bay daughter of Beau Liam makes her second start after finishing fifth in the aforementioned maiden special weight won by Melody Queen in June.
Moonshine Honey is out of Gigahertz, by Dynaformer and was bred in Florida by Crystal Lanum.
Samy Camacho has the mount from post one.
Trainer Nicholas Palmer will send out the Florida-bred duo of Iolana, returning from making her debut against the boys in the $125,000 Royal Palm Juvenile sprinting five furlongs on the Gulfstream turf May 9; and Grant Me Peace, who adds blinkers after closing to be fourth in a five-furlong maiden special weight over the all-weather course on June 21.
Iolana is a homebred for David and Teresa Palmer and is by Florida-bred Golden Pal out of Boss Babe, by Take Charge Indy.
She is 10-1 in the program and will break from post two with Jose Morelos up.
Grant Me Peace is a homebred for Frank Vicino’s Vicino Racing Stables. She is by Bucchero out of Belladini, by Bandini and will be ridden by Leonel Reyes from post three.
Grant Me Peace is 6-1 in the program.
Also entered are Crystal River with Keith Asmussen named to ride, Mumbet with jockey Heriberto Figueroa and Yolber Torres will guide Straight to Jail.
