OCALA, FL—The under tack show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2024 Spring Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training begins Sunday and continues through Saturday with all seven sessions scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m.

Wire to Wire will have daily coverage of all seven sessions.

Hips 1-173 will breeze on Sunday. Hips 174-345 go to the track Monday; Hips 346-518 breeze Tuesday; Hips 519-690 work Wednesday, Hips 691-863 breeze Thursday, Hips 864-1035 work on Friday and Hips 1036-1208 will go to the track Saturday.

The Sale is scheduled for Tuesday, April 16 through Friday, April 19 with each session beginning at 10:30 a.m. Hips 1-302 go on the block Tuesday, Hips 303-604 will be offered Wednesday, Hips 605-906 sell Thursday and Hips. 907-1208 will sell on Friday.

The Under Tack Show will be streamed live via the OBS website and on YouTube. The workouts will be recorded and can be viewed on the website, in their entirety or by individual hip number. They will also be available in the Video Room as well as several kiosks in the breezeway and covered walking ring. Visitors to Ocala will find the videos available for in-room viewing at The Courtyard by Marriott, Holiday Inn & Suites, Homewood Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites, Residence Inn and the Ocala Hilton, plus lounge viewing is available at the Hilton. The OBS Spring Sale has evolved to become the world’s preeminent juvenile auction, producing champions, millionaires and Breeders’ Cup winners with alumni competing at the game’s highest levels and on the sport’s biggest stages.

OBS Spring grads win from coast to coast and overseas. Since the beginning of 2023, 87 OBS Spring graduates have won or placed in 139 graded races, better than two per week, with 44 grads accounting for 55 graded wins, including those scored by the five recent Grade 1 stakes winners on the catalog’s front cover.

Zedan Racing Stables, Inc.’s Arabian Knight, a two-time graded-stakes winner, captured Del Mar’s $1 million Pacific Classic Stakes (G1) in frontrunning style. Trained by Bob Baffert, the Uncle Mo colt has compiled a record of three wins and a third in five starts and has earned $1,544,275. He was purchased by Gary Young on behalf of Zedan Racing for a sale-topping $2.3-million out of the Top Line Sales consignment at the 2022 OBS Spring Sale after breezing an under tack eighth mile in :9.80.

Bob Baffert also trains Zedan Racing’s Arabian Lion, who took the $400,000 Woody Stephens Stakes (G1) at Belmont Park. The colt by Justify, a two-time graded-stakes winner, has compiled a record of three wins, two seconds and a third in nine starts and earned $498,100. He was purchased for $600,000 out of the Hidden Brook consignment at the 2022 OBS Spring Sale after turning in an under tack eighth mile in :10 flat.

Natalie J. Baffert and Debbie Lanni’s Du Jour passed the million-dollar mark with his recent victory in the Santa Anita’s $300,000 Frank E. Kilroe Mile Stakes (G1). It was the third graded win for the son of Temple City, trained by Bob Baffert, now with career record of six wins, three seconds and two thirds in 17 efforts with $1,118,220 in earnings. At the 2020 OBS Spring Sale, he breezed an eighth mile in :10.20 and was purchased by Donato Lani as agent for $280,000 out of the Off the Hook consignment.

Pierre Jean Amestoy Jr., Leslie A. Amestoy and Roger K. Beasley’s Practical Move was a three-time graded-stakes winner, the last a victory in the Santa Anita Derby (G1) for trainer Tim Yakteen. The 2022 OBS Spring Sale graduate, purchased for $230,000 out of the Eisaman Equine consignment after turning in an eighth mile in :10.20, won five of eight starts with a second and two thirds and earned $923,200 at the races.

FMQ Stables’ Saudi Crown was a wire-to-wire winner of the $1 million Pennsylvania Derby (G1) at Parx in September for trainer Brad Cox. The son of Always Dreaming has won four of nine lifetime starts with two seconds and a third while banking $2,982,085. He was consigned by Top Line Sales LLC as agent to the 2022 OBS Spring Sale and sold for $240,000 after breezing an eighth mile in :10 flat.
