Live Oak Plantation homebred Souper Taylor has been labeled as the 7-2 morning line favorite in a one-mile, $47,000 maiden special weight for 11 juvenile fillies at Laurel Park Thursday.
An out-of-state victory in a maiden special weight is worth a $3,000 Export Incentive paid by the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association to the breeder.
Trainer Michael Trombetta shifts Souper Taylor to the main track after two fourth-place finishes in maiden special weights on grass.
She was four-and-three-quarters off winner Maybe Gold going six-and-a-half furlongs at Colonial Downs on August 15 then missed by less than two lengths to Misses Boots when racing seven-and-a-half furlong at Delaware Park on September 9.
By Constitution out of the Street Cry mare Tizatude, Souper Taylor is a half-sister to Live Oak’s Florida-bred Bringthebandhome, winner of last year’s Grade 2 Troy and $150,000 Harvey Pack (Listed), both on the turf at Saratoga.
Souper Taylor has earned $5,750 in her two starts and gets jockey Vincent Cheminaud for the first time. They will begin from the inside starting slot.
Trainer Richard Sillaman has entered She’s the Moament, a bay daughter of Yaupon who also makes her third career start.
She’s the Moament was second on debut versus $50,000 maiden optional claimers going six furlongs at Colonial Downs on August 27 then tried a mile on the turf, finishing sixth at Laurel on September 20.
Jeiron Barbosa has the riding assignment on She’s the Moament and they will depart post 10.
Also entered are Always Ours with Jaime Rodriguez up, Good Wishes will have Mychel Sanchez in the saddle, Daniel Centeno rides Weekend Storm, Emanuel Rosario teams with News of the Week, Dr. Evans will have Sheldon Russell up, A. P. Class will be guided by Taylor Kingsley, Jesse Marie has Kevin Gomez named in the program, Jorge Ruiz has the engagement with Sewanee Inn, and Hugh’s Legend will have Jevian Toledo in the irons.
