Cattleman’s Club Stables’ Evolution trounced a field of five other 3-year-old fillies at Assiniboia Downs Tuesday night in the CAN$50,250 Jack Hardy Stakes, winning by 11 ¾ lengths with jockey Antonio Whitehall aboard. The Florida-bred daughter of Arindel stallion Brethren won her second stakes of the summer, this time going seven-and-a-half furlongs and earning a $4,000 Export Incentive for breeder Arindel.
Trained by William Tourangeau, Evolution finished the first two furlongs in :23.60 with a length on What a Force in second then continued to extend her margin. She was two lengths clear though a half mile in :47.19 and led by eight lengths in mid-stretch before finishing up in 1:34.98 on the fast track.
Evolution was let go as the 5-2 second choice and paid $7.90 to win.
Claimed for $30,000 at Keeneland in April, Evolution next won the US$25,000 Beausox by four-and-a-quarter lengths going five-and-a-half furlongs in the slop at Assiniboia on April 23. Last out, she was sixth in the US$50,000 Chantilly racing six furlongs at Assiniboia on June 24.
Evolution improved her career record to four wins with a second and a third from 13 starts and earnings of $163,491.
She is out of Sweet Khaleesi, by Maimonides, making her a full-sister to stakes-placed Florida-bred Mist. Sweet Khaleesi has four winners from five starters and seven foals, all by Brethren, including an unnamed Florida-bred yearling colt and an unnamed Florida-bred weanling colt.
Ashley Godwin’s Rivermont Farm purchased Sweet Khaleesi for $17,000 in foal to Brethren at the 2026 Ocala Breeders’ Sales Winter Mixed Sale where she was consigned by Arindel. Rivermont bred the Brethren weanling.
