Ollin Women International (OWL) is honoring women in Marion County in the field of equine for their excellence, leadership and impact as part of International Women’s Day on March 7 at the College of Central Florida Klein Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

OWI recognizes women in a different sector of business each year and in 2025 the organization is sending a call out for nominations for remarkable women shaping the equine industry in the Horse Capital of the World®

From skilled equestrians and dedicated trainers to veterinarians, farm owners and equine service providers, the women embody strength, passion and leadership. Their contributions not only advance the industry but also create a more inclusive and equitable future for all.

“This year, we recognize women whose influence extends beyond her profession —someone who is not only respected for her expertise but also valued for her commitment to empowerment, inclusion and advocacy,” OWL President Dr. Manal Fakhoury said.

“Whether through training the next generation of riders, providing top-tier veterinary care, ensuring access to high-quality feed and equipment or using equine-assisted therapy to heal both horses and people, the honorees embody excellence in action,” Event Co-Chair Barbara Fitos said.

Impact also extends into the community, whether through mentorship, volunteer work or philanthropic efforts, or investment of time, talent and resources to uplift others. Nominees exhibit integrity, compassion and an unwavering commitment to both horses and people.

Nominations for equine women are being accepted until Feb. 10 and a short-form is available here.

Tickets are $35 and tables of eight are $250 on Eventbrite (click here).
