LEXINGTON, KY—Equibase announced today the availability of a complimentary dataset with a full year of past performance data and corresponding results charts for development, research and evaluation purposes. The dataset will include all racing information for the 2023 calendar year with the appropriate supporting documentation.

Potential uses for the data include testing for product development or individual handicapping theories, support for research projects in academia, and enabling sports marketers and organizations outside of the industry to see the type of information available for horse racing.

“One of our top requests is the use of historical data from people looking to conduct research for a wide variety of purposes,” Equibase Vice President for Sales and Business Development Jim Vanderbosch said. “Our hope is that this data not only will assist people in their respective research projects but will spur additional innovation in the handicapping product landscape and provide an on-road for those in the traditional sports betting markets looking to enter the racing market.”

“This is what we’d consider a first step at making more complimentary data available that can be used to continue to improve our sport, enable the startup ecosystem, and stimulate innovation,” added Equibase President and COO Kyle McDoniel,

More information on the dataset can be found at equibase.com via the “More” dropdown or directly here. People interested in the data must complete a registration that includes an email address where the information will be sent.
