Divine Secrets, a half-sister to stakes-winning Florida-bred Happy Farm, makes her debut in a maiden special weight for 2-year-old fillies at Gulfstream Park Friday. Owned and bred by George and Karen Russell’s Rustlewood Farm Inc. in Reddick, Fla., Divine Secrets joins fellow Florida-breds Mischievous Scout and London entered in the $70,000 contest scheduled for five furlongs on the turf.

Mark Casse trains Divine Secrets, a daughter of freshman sire Charlatan, a multiple Grade 1 winner of the Arkansas Derby and Runhappy Malibu in 2020. She is out of the Florida-bred Holy Bull mare Gospel Girl, who in addition to Happy Farm produced stakes-placed Florida-breds Good Fight and Corey

Divine Secrets’ most recent work came on July 25 when she breezed four furlongs in :49.38 on the all-weather course at Gulfstream, the 11th fastest of 16 works that morning.

Casse has given the riding assignment to Edgar Perez and she will break from post four in the field of eight, both at Gulfstream.

This will be the third start for Mischievous Scout, a daughter of Girvin who finished third in her previous two starts.

Mischievous Scout is trained by Heather Smullen, who also owns the dark bay filly with James K. Allender. Smullen purchased Mischievous Scout for $25,000 out of the Ocala Stud consignment earlier this year at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales March Sale and has since seen her earn $10,600 in her two starts.

Mischievous Scout was introduced on May 15 in a five-furlong maiden special weight for fillies and finished eight-and-a-quarter lengths behind Florida-bred winner Evolution. Smullen then switched her to the turf for a five-furlong maiden special weight when she was third behind winner Pure Eloquence.

Bred in Florida by Ocala Stud, Mischievous Scout is the first foal out of the unraced Florida-bred mare Moonlightdinner, by Mastery, a half-sister to multiple Grade 1-winning Florida-bred Musical Romance, the Eclipse Award Champion Female Sprinter of 2011 and winner of that year’s Breeder’s Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (G1); graded stakes-placed, stakes-winning Florida-bred Forevamo; and stakes-winning Florida-bred Vuelve Ruben M

Luca Panici will ride Mischievous Scout from post one.

London, another daughter of Girvin, makes her first career start for trainer Joe Orseno and owners S & G Racing and Philip Stillman. She is out of the Unbridled Mate mare Deer Island Diva, who has two other foals, including one starter in winner Love Actually, by Caravaggio. London was bred in Florida by Sharon Rose and Peter Daly of Ocala, Fla.

In her last morning move, she went four furlongs :48.13 on synthetic at Gulfstream on July 25, the fifth fastest of 16 works that morning.

London will be ridden by Edgard Zayas from post seven.

Rounding out the field are Take Charge Candy with jockey Sunday Diaz, Reylu Gutierrez rides La Dolce Vita, Habibi Jose (Ire) will have Leonel Reyes in the saddle, Will to Thrill has Miquel Vasquez named to ride and Jesus Rios takes the call on The Princess Bro.
