According to the Equine Disease Communication Center and the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service of the United States Department of Agriculture, several new cases of Contagious Equine Metris were confirmed in Orange County, Fla., on Aug. 5. An official quarantine has been issued.

Only the animals under quarantine have additional travel restrictions. The horse under quarantine is not allowed to leave the premises.

There were 14 confirmed cases and 83 horses were exposed.
