A colt by Bolt d’Oro fired a bullet eighth-mile in :9.60 Friday during the under tack show for the prestigious Ocala Breeders’ Sales Spring Sale.

Conducted over the SafeTrack artificial surface at the Ocala Training Center, the Friday under tack session was the fifth of seven breeze shows being conducted this week. Horses that worked Friday had been scheduled to work Thursday, but the breeze show was delayed one day due to weather.

Hips 691-863 worked Friday and Hips 864-1035 will work Saturday. Hips 1036-1208 will hit the track Sunday. Each under tack session begins at 8:00 a.m. EDT.

The four-day OBS Spring Sale will be conducted next week, Tuesday through Friday, with each session beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Cataloged as Hip 787 and consigned by Top Line Sales as agent, the fast Bolt d’Oro colt is out of Tipping Point, by Speightstown and is a half-brother to stakes-winner Blame J D and stakes-placed Golden Nugget.

The fastest quarter-mile work went in :21 flat when Hip 862 clicked off the rapid time from the barn of consignor Pick View LLC as agent. The chestnut colt is from the first crop by McKinzie, a four-time Grade 1 winner of the Whitney, Malibu Pennsylvania Derby and Los Alamitos Cash Call Futurity. He is out of the stakes-winning mare Will She, by Wando, a full-sister to stakes-placed Sweet Grass Creek and a half-sister to stakes-placed Sweet Crimson.

Three Juveniles worked two furlongs in :21.20 including two Florida-breds.

Hip 777 is a Florida-bred colt and a full-brother to Florida-bred Hades, winner of the Grade 3 Holy Bull in February and among the favorites for Saturday’s $400,000 Stonestreet Lexington (G3) at Keeneland. The colt is by Ocala Stud’s Florida-bred stallion Awesome Slew out of the Quality Road mare The Shady Lady and is a half-brother to stakes-winner Devious Dame. Bred by Ocala Stud, Joseph M. O’Farrell III, David O’Farrell, et. al, the colt is eligible for the rich Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association Florida Sire Stakes featuring a $1.2 million series of races for 2-year-olds at Gulfstream Park later this year.

The program also includes the $100,000 FTBOA Florida Sire Stakes Marion County and $100,000 FTBOA Florida Sire Stakes City of Ocala for older horses in December at Tampa Bay Downs and Florida Sire Stakes-eligible runners compete for substantial bonus money attached to stakes and overnight races at both Florida tracks throughout the year.

Hip 853 is a Florida-bred filly by first crop sire Global Campaign, a multiple graded stakes-winner including the Grade 1 Woodward Handicap. The chestnut filly is out of Whispered Secrets, by Congrats, a half-sister to Discreet Lover, a Florida-bred multiple graded stakes winner of the Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup and Grade 3 Excelsior. Consigned by Tom McCrocklin as agent, the filly was bred by Castle Gate Farm LLC.

Hip 860, also consigned by Tom McCrocklin as agent, was the third juvenile to work a quarter-mile in :21.20. The bay filly is by McKinzie out of the Tapit mare Wild Ridge making her a half-sister to stakes-placed Clubhouse. Wild Ridge is a half-sister to Grade 3-winner Cazadero, Grade 2-winner Dubyuhnell, stakes-winner Mt. Brave, Grade 3-placed, stakes-winner Almost Famous and graded-stakes producer A Shin Epona.
