Florida Thoroughbred PAC held its first golf tournament on Friday, Oct. 6 at Stone Creek Golf Club in Ocala in support of the Florida Thoroughbred industry. The event kicked off one of many fundraising events that will continue through 2024.

“We thank all those who sponsored teams and hole signage to make this event a success, “ FTBOA President and PAC Board Member George Isaacs said.

The Brook Ledge Horse Transportation team comprised of Troy Hudson, Brian Roberts, Melissa Knowles and Coy Werneth, took home first place. Showcase Properties of Central Florida finished second after a tiebreaker of ‘rock, paper, scissors’ against the Seminole Feed team. Destiny Lawson won the longest drive of the day and closest to the pin went Mary O’ Neal, both from the Showcase Properties of Central Florida team. Sonny Harnish and Jeff Hill completed the team for Showcase. The Seminole Feed team included Paul Sharp, Kevin Hahn, and Dave and Corey Haught. Brian Smith from Rustlewood Farm won closest to the line.

“I was excited the team I sponsored finished second and I was happy to support the industry by participating in this tournament. I am excited about next year and we are expecting even more support in 2024 from our industry members and ancillary businesses,” FTBOA Immediate Past President and PAC board member Valerie Dailey said.
