Brashanknowit, an allowance winner two starts back at Arapahoe Park, has an upset opportunity at Sunland Park Sunday in the $100,000 Harry Henson Handicap. The Florida-bred mare shares the topweight assignment of 124 pounds with three others in the one-mile contest for fillies and mares, 4-years-old and older.
Trained by Greg Green for Richard W. Lueck, Brashanknowit was a wire-to-wire winner of a five-and-a-half-furlong allowance race at Arapahoe on Nov. 17 and has had two smart starts in New Mexico since. She was third behind winner Chesterette in a conditioned $35,000 optional claiming going six furlongs at Zia Park on Dec. 18 then finished fourth in the $65,000 Bold Ego won by Closing Act going five-and-a-half furlongs at Sunland on Jan. 17.
A winner of four of 13 career starts with a second and two thirds, Brashanknowit has earnings of $101,252. Lueck purchased the daughter of Shaman Ghost for $40,000 out of the Parrish Farms consignment at the 2022 Ocala Breeders’ Sales Spring Sale.
