According to a report in 352.today, veteran journalist Ben Baugh, 60, passed away sometime in the hours between Saturday, May 2 and Sunday May 3 of yet to be determined causes. Baugh was discovered at his home on the morning of May 3 by his stepfather, John Butt.
His final stories for 352Today covered the regions local connections to the Kentucky Derby won Saturday by Golden Tempo at Churchill Downs.
Most recently a contributor for 352.Today, Baugh was a longtime reporter in the Ocala/Marion County area covering Thoroughbred racing and breeding and other equine and local events and stories for several publications. In past years, Baugh had contributed stories for Wire to Wire and The Florida Horse magazine.
