Ironhorse Racing Stable’s LLC Beauty of the Sea scored in her first start of the year with a two-length victory in the $71,640 Golden Beach overnight Handicap at Gulfstream Park. With jockey Paco Lopez in the irons, Beauty of the Sea let 7-2 choice and fellow Florida-bred St Pat Day jettison to a comfortable two-length lead for much of the five-furlong sprint before taking over in mid-stretch to win in :54.43 on the firm turf.

Florida-bred Sol Hope rallied from sixth to get second with Wide West (Ire) third among the eight fillies and mares, 3-years-old and older.

Isabel Alexandra (Ire), Florida-bred Call Me Spicy, Florida-bred Talkin Tipsy, Choose Joy and St Pat’s Day completed the order of finish.

Trained by Joe Orseno, Beauty of the Sea paid $10.60 to win.

A winner of the $104,000 Blue Sparkler going five-and-a-half furlongs on the Monmouth Park turf in July, Beauty of the Sea now has four wins with a second in eight starts with earnings of $164,610.

She is by Bucchero out of Belong to Sea, by Poseidon’s Warrior and was bred in Florida by Shade Tree Thoroughbreds Inc.
