Florida-bred Sabatini, who was a graded stakes-winner for NK Racing and LNJ Foxwoods, sold for $1.35 million in foal to Gun Runner at the Fasig-Tipton November Sales held at the Newton Paddocks in Lexington, Ky., Monday evening.
Purchased as Hip 139 by Don Alberto Corporation out of the Gainesway as agent consignment, the 4-year-old daughter of Uncle Mo is out of the Blame mare Gabriellestoblame, a full sister to Nyquist.
An earner of $139,733, Sabatini won two of six starts including the Listed Star Shoot and the Grade 3 Selene, both in 2024 at Woodbine. She was bred by Bridlewood Farm.
Florida-bred Cody’s Gold, a weanling colt from the first crop by 2023 Horse of the Year and two-time Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1)-winner Cody’s Wish, went for $300,000 to Brookstone Farm as Hip 11. Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency as agent, the colt is out of Haraawa, by Medaglia d’Oro and is a half-brother to Grade 1-place Florida-bred stakes-winner Munnys Gold. He was bred in Florida by Nicksar Farms.
Amo Racing went to $6,200,000 to secure the sale topping Streak of Luck (hip 220) from the consignment of Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent for Aaron & Marie Jones (video). Streak of Luck is the dam of this year’s undefeated FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Juvenile presented by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (G1)-winner and presumptive Eclipse Champion 2-year-old male Ted Noffey. A multiple graded stakes placed stakes winning daughter of Old Fashioned, Streak of Luck was offered in foal to successful young sire Not This Time.
Overall, 138 horses sold for $102,027,000, up 5.8% from when 178 sold for $96,423,500 last year. The gross was the second highest in sale history, second only to the 2021 renewal. The average rose 36.5% to $739,326 from $541,705 in 2024. The average was the second highest in the sale’s history, behind the record set in 2008. The median was $300,000 – tied for third highest in sale history–up 20% from $250,000 last year. The RNA rate fell to 22.5%.
