E-mail Print

Leroidesanimaux Stonewall Farm Ocala’s stallion show and open house is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Stonewall will stand 10 stallions in 2011—A.P. Warrior, Da Stoops, Doneraile Court, Frisco Star, It’s No Joke, Leroidesanimaux (BRZ), Strong Contender, Spellbinder, Value Plus and Unforgettable Max.

“We are proud to offer our strong stallion roster to Florida’s breeders,”said Jim Hopper, Stonewall’s general manager. “We’re here because we believe Florida is the best place to breed and raise racehorses. We’re looking forward to Saturday and sharing our stallions with area breeders.

“We realize that as a stallion operation we are the first step in helping breeders control the cost of breeding a quality race horse,” he added. “I believe that the silver lining to everything going on in the horse business is that people realize they need to breed a race horse first.”

Among the stallions breeders will get to see is Leroidesanimaux (BRZ). By Candy Stripes—Dissemble (GB), by Ahonoora, the millionaire champion stands for $7,500. He is the sire of five graded stakes horses led by Always a Princess, winner of the Indiana Oaks (G2).

A.P. Warrior, a son of A.P. Indy—Warrior Queen, by Quiet American, stands for $6,000. His 2010 runners include stakes winner Faisca and Hawk Warrior, a $335,000 colt who won his debut in Japan in impressive fashion.

Da Stoops, who stands for $3,500, is a son of Distorted Humor—Glamorous Lady, by Kingdom of Spain. Da Stoops won or placed 14 times in 16 starts, 10 in stakes races.

The open house will feature ribs and chicken by master pitmaster Chris Crandon. For more information, contact Jim Hopper at (352) 364-0060 or visit the farm’s website at www.stonewallfarmocala.com
