When the $50,000 Our Dear Peggy Stakes was moved from the turf to the main track at Calder Casino & Race Course on Saturday because of wet weather, Dash Dot Dash became a 1-5 favorite, and the filly performed like it, leading every step of the way for a 12-length victory.
Dash Dot Dash, a daughter of Bridlewood Farm stallion Put It Back bred by Ocala’s Cathy Rountree, earned her fourth straight win and her third consecutive stakes score. The 4-year-old filly also won the $50,000 Take D’Tour Stakes in May and the $50,000 Emergency Nurse Stakes on July 3 on Calder’s main track.
For her career, Dash Dot Dash has seven wins from 19 starts and $265,742 in earnings. She’s trained by Marty Wolfson for Farnsworth Stables.
With Jermaine Bridgmohan aboard, Dash Dot Dash set fractions of 25.31 seconds for a quarter-mile and 49.55 seconds for a half-mile before getting to the top of the stretch with a five-length advantage. Her final time for the 1 1⁄16 miles on a fast track was 1:45.42.
Dash Dot Dash paid $2.40 to win and was followed by Florida-breds Musical Romance and Glotona. The field was reduced from 13 to six when the race was moved to the main track.
