OCALA – Prospective buyers can watch the 340 juveniles cataloged for the OBS March sale of selected 2-year-olds in training at the under-tack shows today and Friday at 9 a.m. The shows are streamed live on www.obssales.com. Hip Nos. 1–170 are scheduled to breeze today, and hip Nos. 171-340 will breeze Friday. Champion OBS March graduates Stardom Bound and Forever Together are pictured on the catalog’s cover, while 2009 Grade 1 winners Homeboykris and Game Face grace the back cover.
The catalog features siblings to several promising 3-year-olds who have taken the first steps on the road to the 2010 classics. Conveyance, the winner of the Southwest Stakes (G3) at Oaklawn Park, has a half-brother by Stormy Atlantic in the sale, and Southwest runner-up Dublin’s half-brother by Vindication is cataloged as well.
Quiet All American, by Forest Camp and the winner of last month’s OBS Championship Stakes, has a full brother in the sale, as does Dixie Union’s Dixie Commander, an OBS graduate and the winner of the 2010 Turf Paradise Derby. Domonation, third in Santa Anita’s San Rafael Stakes (G3), has a half-brother in the sale by Tale of the Cat.
There’s no shortage of sire power in the sale, with youngsters cataloged by A.P. Indy, Birdstone, Candy Ride (ARG), Distorted Humor, Elusive Quality, Giant’s Causeway, Gone West, Indian Charlie, Malibu Moon, Medaglia d’Oro, Northern Afleet, Smart Strike, Speightstown, Storm Cat, Tapit, Tiznow and Unbridled’s Song.
All workouts will be recorded and available for viewing at the sales grounds and at www.obssales.com, with a sortable index as well as viewable and/or downloadable in their entirety. They will also be available for in-room viewing at the Ramada Inn, The Courtyard by Marriott, Homewood Suites, Residence Inn and the Ocala Hilton, plus lounge viewing is available at the Hilton.
Under-tack results are posted on the OBS website approximately one hour after the conclusion of each session.
The sale is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, with each session starting at 11 a.m. Catalogs for the sale are available in print and via the OBS website.
