BUY YOUR TICKETS NOW FOR THE BIGGEST GALA OF THE FLORIDA THOROUGHBRED INDUSTRY ON MARCH 11

The biggest gala of the Florida Thoroughbred industry is the annual FTBOA Florida Champions Awards Gala to be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event honors the 2012 Florida Horse of the Year and Florida-bred champions, their breeders, owners and trainers.

Attendees include Florida Thoroughbred industry leaders, award winners, FTBOA members and business leaders, in addition to the general public.

The Evening of Elegance consists of a Veranda Terrace cocktail reception at 6 p.m., a silent auction for Florida Thoroughbred Charities from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., dinner in the ballroom at 7 p.m. and the awards ceremony starts at 8:15 p.m. Cocktail attire is suggested for the evening.

The large silent auction features hospitality packages at restaurants, attractions and hotels from across the state; trips, limited edition signed memorabilia including horse racing and other major league sports; and a variety of business services. The Florida Thoroughbred Charities benefits from the fundraiser. The FTC primarily funds scholarships and the Florida Thoroughbred Retirement Farm at the Lowell Correctional Institute, along with other industry and local community charity programs. Silent auction items are being accepted and donation forms are available at ftboa.com, or call 352-629-2160 or contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Last year the event was at maximum capacity with 400 guests, so the Evening of Elegance Gala has moved to a larger venue in Ocala to accommodate added interest, the business community and the public. The new venue is the Circle Square Cultural Center Ballroom, in Circle Square Commons at 8447 SW 99th St Rd, Ocala FL 34481. The venue is near the entrance of the On Top of the World Communities, next door to The Ranch Fitness Center & Spa.  Additional directions are on the venue website at circlesquarecommons.com.

Tickets for the event are $100 for FTBOA members and $125 non-members. Members can extend their discount to up to 3 guests. RSVPs are recommended early at 352-629-2160 and the final deadline for RSVPs is Friday, March 8.

The evening is made possible annually by generous sponsors and supporters of the Thoroughbred industry. Sponsorships are still available and the sponsor deadline is February 18 to ensure recognition in sponsor materials.  Additional sponsorships are welcome after the early deadline. Levels range from the Platinum Exclusive level to Gold, Silver and Bronze. The Top three levels include Gala tickets, while the bronze level is designed to give businesses exposure even if they cannot attend in person. To view a complete sponsorship package, visit the website at ftboa.com or contact FTBOA at 352-629-2160 or e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
