George Isaacs

George Isaacs grew up around cattle and horses on his family’s farms in Kentucky. At the age of 18, he went to work at Stanley Petter’s Hurricane Hall Stud as a groom. The money he earned while working at Hurricane Hall helped pay for his education at the University of Kentucky, where he earned a business degree.

In 1981, Isaacs went to work for the late Joe Taylor at John Gaines’ Gainesway Farm. He began his career there as a stallion groom and was later promoted to assistant stallion manager. Isaacs also managed Ric Redden’s veterinary clinic and Watermill Farm in Kentucky, as well as Blandford Lodge in New Zealand.

Isaacs came to Florida in 1989 to take over the post of stallion manager at Arthur I. Appleton’s Bridlewood Farm in Ocala. Three years later, he went to work for Allen Paulson at his Brookside South as general manager. In 1996, Isaacs returned to Bridlewood as general manager, and has overseen operations there ever since and has been instrumental in much of the farm’s recent success.

This year has been another phenomenal year for Bridlewood Farm as they are represented by graded stakes winners Smokey Stover, Icy Atlantic, In Summation and Black Bar Spin.
